For those of you wanting to come early to Bangkok and explore, or stay on, The New World Hotel is a good place to stay.

Apart from being only about $32 per night, it is situated in the old part of Bangkok and is close to several good shops, markets temples and only 10 min to the canal boats.

It is an easy walk to the famous Khaosan Road, which featured in the first scene of the movie "The Beach" when Leonardo DiCaprio was on the tuk-tuk .

They have a good tourist desk at the hotel and speak good English.
